The relationship between food with skin problems has long been a spotlight on dermatology experts. One of them is the relation between consumption of milk with pimple.
Alan Logan, ND, author of The Clear Skin Diet, says that milk consumption should be reduced if you want to have pimple free skin. According to him, even though milk including foods with low glycemic index, but milk contains many hormones.
"Hormones in milk, together with high calcium, for many years been suspected as the cause of pimple," said Logan.
Experts suspect milk accelerate skin synthetic androgen in the body, namely that there are male hormones in the body of women and men. Androgen hormones cause the sebaceous (oil) glands produce more oil. Pimple occurs when sebum that normally come out to the skin surface is blocked.
A study published in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology also showed a link between milk and pimple. In a study of 47,335 women surveyed had known women who drank two glasses of milk or more each day pimple problems.
Even so, Richard Fried, MD, dermatologist and author of Healing Adult Pimple mention not all people react the same way about food. He suggested that we make a list of foods consumed.
"Make a note type or types of food eaten 24 hours before the pimples arise," he said. Check how our skin reacts to certain foods.
