Pimple is an embarrassing skin condition which affects people of all ages; teenagers, young adults, and men and women of middle age are prone to occasional blemishes or even severe breakouts. There are countless medications for treating pimples, and those who can afford it may turn to expensive medical procedures to get rid of their Pimple; although alternative methods are often overlooked, more and more people are turning to homeopathic Pimple treatments as the most effective way to get smooth, even skin.

Pimple as a Symptom of a Deeper Problem

Most Pimple treatments focus on the external aspects of the problem, using gels, creams, and other chemically-based topical solutions that are applied directly to the Pimple. But Pimple is truly a deeper issue, an outward sign of imbalances in your system. Homeopathy looks at Pimple as a symptom and addresses the problem from the inside out, working to restore balance to your body and promote internal healing.

How Homeopathic Medicine Works

Homeopathy, which is translated from the Greek as “like suffering,” works by concentrating on the entire person, rather than just an isolated symptom. Homeopathic Pimple treatments consist of preparations that produce symptoms like those you are currently suffering, thereby stimulating your body’s natural healing response.

A homeopath will examine you and talk to you about your medical history, your personality, and your likes and dislikes in order to get a complete picture of you as a person. He or she can then determine the best way to treat your condition holistically and recommend the correct homeopathic medications for your personal situation.

Homeopathic Pimple Treatments

Some of the common homeopathic treatments for Pimple are described here:

* Sulphuris calcareum- prescribed for those who have painful, slow healing breakouts; these individuals are often irritable and feel cold much of the time;
* Antimonium tartaricum- most often used for those who experience large, reddened pustules that are sore to the touch;
* Calcarea Carbonica- recommended for individuals who are overweight, often crave sweets, and are frequently anxious;
* Silicea- often used to treat deep-seated cystic Pimple.

Before considering your pimple treatment, it is important to know a few quick facts about pimple vulgaris
and pimple treatment

1. No direct link has been established between pimple and diet (pizza, nuts, sweets, chocolate )

o There is no link between pimple and diet. In particular, no cause and effect has been established between pimple and chocolate, dairy products (milk products), shellfish, sweets, or fatty foods (french fries, pizza, etc.). Healthy diet is good for your overall health but it will not be enough to get rid of pimple.

2. Pimple cannot be cured (There is NO pimple cure); it can be effectively treated (see pimple treatment) and controlled (but there is no permanent pimple cure)

o There is a widespread belief that pimple is curable and that a course of antibiotics is all that is required to treat pimple. People will often make statements such as my pimple treatment did not work because when I stopped the tablets the pimple came back again, and after my pimple treatment the pimple only improved but did not completely disappear. It must be made clear that continued pimple treatment is required and that there is no cure for pimple (although isotretinoin may cause long-term remission of the disease).

3. Pimple is NOT a result of poor hygiene

o Dirt and surface skin oils do not cause pimple. However, accumulation of daily dirt on the skin and excessive skin oils should be removed by gently washing your face twice a day with a mild soap, pat dry and use an appropriate pimple treatment.

4. Constant washing does not improve pimple

o Constant washing does not improve pimple. Excessive scrubbing dries and irritates skin further and can actually make your pimple worse.

5. Getting a tan does not clear pimple

o Although there has been little scientific evidence that sunlight has any reliable beneficial effect on pimple, and even less evidence for the benefits of solariums; nevertheless, there has been a resurgence of interest in effects of sunlight on pimple. Before recommending such pimple treatment one should carefully evaluate any positive effect of using sunlight in pimple treatment against the possible long-term carcinogenetic effects of ultraviolet light on the skin. In addition, some studies have shown that pimple treatment using sunlight can even worsen pimple.

6. Not only teenagers can have pimple, adults get pimple too (adult pimple)

o Even though, pimple vulgaris is mainly a skin disease of teenagers; the prevalence of pimple in teenage boys and girls is so high that pimple is considered almost universal in this age group; nevertheless, adults suffer from pimple, too.

7. Pimple should be treated and controlled, do not just "let pimple run its course"

o Even though, in most cases pimple will “run its course”; nevertheless, untreated pimple can leave you forever with unaesthetic pimple scars, reminding you about your teenage pimple skin problems for the rest of your life. There are multiple pimple treatments available; therefore, pimple should be treated and controlled, avoiding any potential unaesthetic pimple scars in the future.

8. Stress does not cause pimple, but it can exacerbate the existing condition

o A study of 215 graduating medical students showed that 67% believed that stress plays a role in pimple exacerbations. Anxiety was considered an pimple-exacerbating factor by 74% of students and their relatives. There is also evidence that stress may exacerbate pimple during examinations. It has also been noted that treatment with biofeedback mechanisms is useful in some pimple sufferers.

9. Exercise does not increase risk of pimple

o According to Stanford University School of Medicine (Stanford.edu) research and contrary to popular beliefs, exercise and sweating during exercise do not increase pimple in athletes.

10. There are misconceptions regarding variably of too little or too much sexual activity and pimple.

o There are myths regarding too little or too much sexual activity and pimple.

 First sex and pimple myth that too much sex or masturbation may worsen pimple.

 Second sex and pimple myth that somehow when females begin having a regular sex life their pimple will be improved.

o Although pimple is linked to androgen metabolism at the level of the sebaceous glands; nevertheless, there is no evidence supporting neither of these rather strange extrapolations.
